I have come up to beau constancia several times, as I am in Cape Town about once a year. It’s a truly lovely place. The restaurant is amazing but hard to get a reservation even weeks in advance in the summer, so this year we did the wine tasting which has a similar view in a more low key atmosphere. It was a lovely afternoon and we enjoyed 4 tastings and a cheese board for a lunch. Two suggestions I would have is to position the tables so that more of them face the view (which is stunning) and perhaps upgrade and expand the cheese selection. There are some really nice cheeses in SA. I was disappointed with the selection (only 3 types) and the rather rubbery cheddar. Overall however, it is a lovely venue and good wine!

Amazing views and incredible platters but a very rushed experience. Two hours is not long enough when ordering platters. Our last couple of wines were bought at the same time and the bill bought to the table before we could enjoy them or finish our platters. We requested comfortable chairs for a friend who has had an hip operation and this request was not accommodated or taken into account at all.
