Wang Thai – A Mixed Experience I had been eagerly looking forward to dining at Wang Thai, especially to relive the memory of their *Pla Rad Prik*, a dish I first enjoyed here many years ago when the restaurant first opened. Since then, I’ve had this dish at numerous restaurants, including in Thailand, and even attempted making it myself. Unfortunately, this evening’s experience fell far short of my expectations. The *Pla Rad Prik* was less than satisfactory—in fact, it was so disappointing that I had to send it back. This was a letdown, especially as it’s a dish I hold in high regard. On the other hand, my friends ordered the steamed fish, which was excellent—flavorful, fresh, and perfectly cooked. My margarita cocktails were also a highlight, well-made and refreshing. Service started off strong, with attentive and friendly staff. However, as the evening progressed, it became increasingly difficult to get anyone’s attention, whether to request the bill or order more drinks. This inconsistency was frustrating and detracted from the overall experience. The restaurant was fully booked, partly due to a large table of visitors from the Thai embassy. While it’s great to see the restaurant busy, the lack of soft furnishings made the noise levels overwhelming. Conversations around the room were so loud that it felt necessary to shout to be heard by the person next to me. Ultimately, the evening was a mixed bag. While some aspects, like the steamed fish and cocktails, were excellent, the disappointing *Pla Rad Prik*, inconsistent service, and noisy environment left me feeling unsatisfied. I left the restaurant still hungry and wishing for a better experience. I am happy that this Wang Thai still exists, and it is dearly needed amongst all these restaurants with their overpriced tapas offerings, but on this occasion, they fell short.

Green Curry was good other than having an overpowering coriander / spice burning throat. Stunning view, relaxing, pleasant aesthetic and truly asian/thai.
