Your Hosts - Matteo Santini & Maurizio Carlo. These Two where born and raised in Italy. Matteo In the Beautiful Bolognia and Maurizio in Fiery Florence. They have both Traveled the world for the past 10 years and Finally decided to Settle in our beautiful Cape Town. Together have taken over THE WOODLANDS EATERY as of the 01 June 2017.

They strive to incorporate authentic Italian cuisine combined with the delicious existing local flavors. We welcome you into their home and hope that you enjoy and feel part of the famiglia

    Seafood dish was basically a few mussels, the odd calamari ring and spaghetti drowning in crab juice. Sadly got that ripped off feeling but too shy to say anything deal. Dish was so overdone with the seafood sauce got sick.

We are very sorry you felt like that about our Tagliolini allo Scoglio (fresh Mussels, Patagonia Calamary & Prawns), we would have appreciate it if you could have mentioned to us on the night so Mizio (one of the owner) thats was on duty could have made a plan for another dishes that suited more your taste.     Really wanted this to be an amazing authentic Trattoria, but the food was just not good enough for a return visit; toppings heavy on the pizza, sauce heavy on the pasta - a good pizza base can stand on it's own, a good pasta the same, and the amount of toppings and sauce only served to mask the base of the dishes. Am sorry for the bad review, but quality will always trump quantity.

    Always a great meal! It was really hot and would have wanted the AC to cool us down a bit but the beers did the trick.
