My experience at The Silo was utterly disappointing. I had reserved a table for 2 guests for thank you drinks. We were given a table without good views and when asked to move, the manager was very rigid and not accommodating and we were told that only if a table opens up. There were plenty 2 seaters available however were told an additional seat cannot be added to the table for walk ins. I have noted that more attention and hospitality are given to the foreign tourists. The ambience was lacking and no music or any proper atmosphere. It was truly a disappointing experience and I will not recommend or return. My first experience back in 2022 was the complete opposite when visiting the Granary Cafe.

The setting and view is great, the staff is great, but the food was terrible. I ordered the cauliflower schnitzel that was dosed in vinegar, I sent most of the dish back, so did one of my guests. I was a bit embarassed by my choice of venue for lunch. The manager tasted and concurred that it was not good, yet I paid for it in full. The desert was good. Overall I won't recommend it for a place to go if you want to eat something.

The staff were most welcoming and we had a cocktail and snacks per kind favour of Luis Pinheiro. Shingai showed us over this unique and beautiful hotel which we had seen on television in the UK.

Hello there. We visited Silo on Monday 24th March 2025 and were blown away. Our visit was due to Silo being featured on the BBC programme "Beyond The Lobby" in the UK and it more than lived up to our expectations. The cocktails were perfect, the food (Steak Frites & Fish Curry) impeccably prepared and presented (and delicious). We loved our time with you. Special mention to Siya downstairs (we chatted rugby) and Busiswa in the restaurant. Both of these people were just lovely and are a credit to Silo. We will be back, a glorious place in a glorious city. With love, The Honeybones.

We had to relocate as the Rooftop was closed. Unfortunately we were crammed into a small space and my friend had no view from her seat and mine was limited. There were other available tables which were not used but the staff seemed unable to use their initiative and move us. The table was extremely small and we then had to spread on to an adjacent table after being told that it was reserved for some “nice people”! Other couples appeared to have been given large tables with optimum views. All in all this diminished our whole experience. The food was tasty but could have been hotter.
