Pan-Asian cocktail lounge and restaurant situated in the iconic Mount Nelson, a Belmond Hotel. By Chefs Warehouse.

Gluten Free: While we do offer some gluten free substitutes, we are not a gluten- free kitchen. Cross-contamination could occur, and our restaurant is unable to guarantee that any item can be completely free of allergens. Diners are encouraged to consider this information in light of their individual requirements and needs.

Halal: To note that while we can accommodate diners with our vegetarian or pescatarian menus which do not include alcohol or pork in their preparation, our kitchen does use these ingredients and we do have a bar on site.

Nuts & Alliums: Our menus use ginger, garlic, onions, spring onions and nuts extensively.

    Unfortunately somewhat disappointend. We hae chosen the Red Room again since we were thrilled last time (March). Startes were at best "average", most of them not hot but warm to nearly cold. Peking Duck was excellent though. Service was professional but but somewhat not heartfelt. When we left, manager was not even asking whether it was good or whether we liked it.

    Japanese restaurants can sometimes be either tacky or clinical - the Red Room is neither - it is quiet, elegant and visually stunning. The menu is a masterpiece - a subtle hint of fusion with layered tastes that showcase the ingredients perfectly. The Chef's Choice Menu is perfectly proportioned for two, and contains a few sneaky surprises - I am now a massive fan of lamb belly! Our anniversary meal was made so much more memorable by the attention of the wonderful Rachel - thank you, you were a large part of the success of our evening. Highly recommended if you want something romantic, elegant and really special at a reasonable price. Offering a "tasting menu has become almost de rigueur for upmarket restaurants today and it seems most of them can charge what they want. I think the Red Room is different...
