Your Italian Restaurant in Cape Town

The Cousins Trattoria was an idea created by Andrea, Simone and Luca who wanted to bring their knowledge and passion for food to Cape Town.

These cousins from Romagna, on the Adriatic coast of Italy, have lived in (and loved) Cape Town for many years, but felt there was not a place in the city where they could find the simple, authentic Italian food they had grown up with, in their homeland.

So joining their skills, they opened The Cousins Trattoria, where Andrea makes fresh pasta every morning, using only fresh and natural ingredients, just like Mama does! Bread and tiramisu are baked daily; great coffee and a passion for service makes this easy going place a heaven
for the senses.

    Best pasta of my life! An incredible dining experience that leaves you dazzled and euphoric after each bite. The menu feels thoughtful and considered from the appetizers to mains, desserts to wine. We had The Cousins signature pasta and the black tagliolini allo scoglio seafood pasta - both spectacular. The atmosphere was warm and relaxed and Andrea and his staff were perfectly attentive. It was the perfect location for date night and if I could dine there every night - I absolutely would!

    Lasagne was served cold and very dry. Owner was quite the ogre when this was bought to his attention then became a drama queen when we tried to pay with Amex. typical rude Italian. no wonder SA friends did not want to join us at this restaurant. Waiting Staff super friendly. suggest owner takes a vacation and leave the running to the people that hold this restaurant together. Will definitely NOT be returning to this establishment.

    We had the most spectacular meal at the Cousins last night. Everything from the welcome, lighting, their unique custom made made-to-order bread, our starters (truffles burrata and beef carpaccio) and the home made pastas in delectable sauces (bolognaise, seafood, langoustine and truffled tagliatelle made in a Parmesan wheel) was off-the-charts good! Their wine-list is well curated and easy to navigate. Deserts are authentic and delicious. Thanks Andrea for treating us like friends - we can’t wait to return again
