    We had a wonderful afternoon, the setting, staff, and service were all five stars! We enjoyed the food too, although sadly my husband got food poisoning - he had the oysters and seafood platter, so something wasn't too fresh.. a pity because I couldn't fault anything else.

    We visited The Beach House Restaurant twice: the first time in the evening on November 30th and the second time in the evening on December 1st. Yesterday (December 1st), we ordered the same dishes we had on November 30th — the Low Tide Platter and tempura prawns. When the Low Tide Platter was served, I immediately thought the prawns didn’t seem fresh, but I assumed that in a restaurant like this, they would ensure the freshness of their ingredients. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I ended up with severe food poisoning from the prawns. I spent the entire night running to the bathroom, unable to sleep due to stomach pain and discomfort. It’s very likely that these prawns were leftovers from November 30th, when the restaurant was busy and probably prepared a large amount of food. Yesterday, being Sunday with fewer guests, they might have decided it was acceptable to serve food that had been sitting for a couple of days. It’s incredibly disappointing because we came to Yzerfontein for just two days, and today, December 2nd, as we’re leaving, I’m unable to enjoy my time because I feel terrible and exhausted after a sleepless night. I do not recommend this restaurant — the prices are high, but the quality is unacceptable.

    We had a lovely eating experience at The Beach House. The service was excellent and friendly. The setting is stunning and the food delicious. Definitely will return.
