Jurgen Schneider: 'After 50 years of cooking I feel I came to the point to know exactly what I want to bring to the peoples palate and to the table.

All the styles we as chefs got through, in all kitchens around the world (traditionelle cooking, nouvelle cuisine, molecular style, farm to table, local is lekker, and last but not least Nature Kitchen) and the influence of each style I was thinking about my personal style a lot.

Since 40 years I am a mad forager and food from nature is for me the most inspiring topic. Here at the Western Cape in the heart of the Floral Kingdom the varieties of plants which are growing right in front of our doorstep are amazing.

Dune Spinach, Wild Sage, Cancer-bush, Buchu, Geranium, Confetti Bush, Sea Weed, Bitter Bush…and lots more…

Dinner from Wednesday until Saturday, choose between:
4 courses, 5 courses or 6 courses.

Lunch on Sunday, choose between:

    Everything about Schneider’s Cape Kitchen was superb. The food was delicious, so many beautiful and interesting flavours. The service and ambiance was impeccable. And the views are breathtaking. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

    The whole experience was lovely, we were met by Warren who effortlessly moves from table to table communicating in different languages, keeping an eye on all that is going on, he introduced to the menu etc, Suzanne as always is extremely professional and welcoming, we probably only come twice a year but she instantly Remembers us we love coming here and look got to seeing the next chapter.

    We had an outstanding two star lunch at altitude with top notch service. After two monts traveling the Cape we found this restaurant surprised us the most. The way Jurgen Schneider incorporates the fynbos herbs in his dishes is incredible. The 180 degrees view from the restaurant of the mountains of Hemel en Aarde vally and even Cape of Good Hope finishes it off. Suzanne and Jurgen, thank you for this unforgetable afternoon.
