    I wanted to share my feedback on our recent dining experience at Saffron Restaurant at Coastlands Umhlanga Hotel. When I made the reservation, I specifically mentioned to the person taking the call that we were coming to celebrate my parents' 41st wedding anniversary. It was their choice to visit the restaurant, and I was told to inform the waiter upon arrival, which I did. However, as the evening progressed, we were disappointed to find that no special acknowledgment or gesture was made for the occasion. When we were nearly ready to leave, I reminded the waiters once more, but again, nothing was done. We ended up paying for our drinks and were about to leave without any recognition of the anniversary. As we were heading to the elevators, a waiter approached us with a slice of cake. While we appreciated the gesture, it felt disconnected from what we were expecting—a more meaningful acknowledgment of the anniversary itself. Additionally, as the meal was a buffet, there was already cake available, so it didn't feel special or personalized to the occasion. I also felt that the restaurant could benefit from having a few more waiters. The existing staff seemed to be running around trying to manage everything, which impacted the overall service experience. This experience was quite disheartening, especially given the expectations set when I initially made the reservation. I hope this feedback helps in improving the guest experience moving forward.
