Enjoy our pastry chef’s selection of petit gateaux and exquisite teatime treats as well as a selection of savoury delights. Served daily from 2:30PM to 4:30PM with a last seating at 3:30pm.

Bookings are essential and full payment is required in order to confirm the booking.

Kindly note that 24 hours’ notice is required in order to prepare everything for the Royal Tea and there may be an additional charge for specific dietary requirements.

    The Royal Tea at The Silo Hotel was an exceptional experience and truly worth it. The quality and presentation of the food were outstanding, exceeding my expectations. However, the table arrangement could be improved. The initial table provided was too small, requiring an additional table to be added, which, in my view, slightly detracted from the overall ambiance. While the service was good, it could have been more attentive — for instance, the absence of clotted cream, marmelade etc. went unnoticed. The quality of the tea itself was excellent, but I would have appreciated a more refined tea service, including information on the optimal brewing time, hot water for refills, and a designated plate for the tea strainer. Additionally, the presentation of sugar in standard sachets did not quite align with the hotel's sophisticated setting. Overall, it was a delightful experience, complemented by a breathtaking view of Table Mountain.

    We had a tea for 10 ladies for a bridal shower and it was absolutely brilliant experience. From the wonderful welcoming and engaging staff, the ambience of the place to the amazing food. We had a few dietary requirements (which most of places could not accommodate) which were met beyond expectations. The food not only looked good, it tasted great. Thank you to the Silo team and chefs for taking care of us. 10/10 on all counts

    Over-priced afternoon for dry cakes and average service. And then treated very poorly around requesting a booking for the sky-bar after our tea. It seems you need to clearly put on display that you're the kind of person who can afford the R30k per night else don't bother asking for anything- and even when you do get that booking be sure to get it in writing and notify every person in the building, else you'll be treated like you "snuck" in without permission and then repeatedly reminded about "how it all works". Unbelievable snobbery and ignorance.

    Too many of the eats were too sweet, with not enough subtile flavour. Overall, less bread would be great, or very thin slices of bread, instead of a bulky buns. More balance would be great!
