    We had the Omakase menu, 9 plates at R600 per person. Great cocktails and good food although one or two of them were a bit of a miss for me, specifically the spinach soup. I felt the edamame was slightly over-salted. The in-house wasabi with the sushi was very good. The cocktails are very good and have interesting flavour profiles. The service is a little hurried. While every course came out promptly, and I appreciate that, at this price point/level of fine dining I'd expect a slightly more deliberate, deft approach from the waiters, e.g. pouring neatly so water doesn't splash, not bumping chairs etc. I think they're under pressure to turn things over quickly, and that comes across. Decor is great, though bathrooms are so dimly lit they should consider complimentary night vision goggles. I'm also interested to understand how they ensure the opening meal (on the bonsai) is kept hygienic; it's not a plate so how do you clean it?

    Court served us and was just the best! Charming, knowledgeable and extremely attentive. The food is amazing and it’s a beautiful room.

    Great experience when it came to ambience service and location. We took the golden platter and was impressed by the diversity of the food. More Japanese fusion than authentic Japanese food. I did read the price incorrectly for the golden platter for 2. I read R1000 per couple when in fact it says R1000 per person for a platter for 2. I've never seen a platter for 2 priced per person. Any way the food was very good and the attention to detail was very good. I valued it at R1000 per couple maybe at a stretch R1500, but that is me and the place is jam packed for lunch and dinner.

    Best restaurant in town. Great food, service and a fabulous room. Not the cheapest in town but well worth it.
