Food was good. Service was a bit slow and was expensive. But a lovely night.

Mama Samba never disappoints, and their creative Valentine’s menu was no exception—it truly felt like great value for money. As always, the flavors were deeply Latin-inspired, bursting with vibrancy and energy. Every dish had that signature explosive flair that keeps me coming back. Now, let’s talk about the sushi. You know sushi is top-tier when you don’t even need soy sauce. That’s exactly what happened—the flavors stood so strong on their own that adding anything else felt unnecessary. The freshness of the fish was undeniable, making every bite an experience in itself. However, one aspect I didn’t appreciate was the handling of reservations. We had booked an outdoor table, but since it started raining, we were moved inside to the bar area. The frustrating part? Many people who made reservations didn’t even show up, yet walk-ins were seated at those tables instead. To prevent this, I think Mama Samba should consider implementing a deposit system, which can later be deducted from the bill. It would help avoid situations where reserved tables go to waste. Sitting at the bar wasn’t the most comfortable experience due to the noise, but our waitress was incredibly kind. The service itself was a bit inconsistent—not bad, just somewhat scattered. That said, I did appreciate that the staff wasn’t overbearing, allowing us to enjoy our meal in peace. One small improvement I’d love to see is an alcohol-free alternative for the set menu pairings. It would have been great to have a thoughtfully crafted mocktail instead of just an appletizer substitution, especially since my dining companion received champagne. Small details like this could enhance the overall experience. All in all, it was another delicious visit to Mama Samba. Their creativity in the kitchen remains unmatched, and despite a few logistical hiccups, the food and atmosphere made for a memorable evening.
