Situated opposite the Casterbridge Hollow Boutique Hotel, Magnolia Restaurant & Café offers on trend cuisine in an inviting, sophisticated setting when it comes to White River restaurants.

The décor is inspired by rural French charm with locally produced elements to add a modern, African touch. The Café makes the most of the country setting, and breakfasts and lunches are served alfresco, providing a fresh breeze and a ray of sunshine to enliven the day. The kitchen utilises the full array of locally produced fruit and vegetables to provide a fresh and scrumptious menu offering.

Upstairs at Magnolia Restaurant, functional art provides intriguing topics for conversation amid welcome drinks served at the White River restaurants bar lounge, overlooking the country-styled gardens and orchards in the distance. An invigorating selection of gin, craft beer and cocktails can be enjoyed while taking in the sunset and immersing yourself in the laid-back, yet fanciful setting.

Although initially disappointed by the limited ala carte menu, when we did choose, both the food a and presentation were excellent. I had Cajun Cicken Salad that was a work of art and my wife had a spicy butternut soup that she said was divine. Also, our main courses, Venison and Hake were beautifully presented and delicious, cooked to perfection, my Venison have just the degree of pink heart that I asked for. What however was disappointing was the very unpleasant tonic that was available to have with our G&T. Priestley was the brand which it claims was 'EST' in 1767 (the year Joseph Priestly accidentally discovered water can be infused with CO2) whereas the SA company which makes it (INGWE BEVERAGES) is old 11 years old, and the product is most unpleasant to the taste and full of unwanted ingredients. The Priestley tonic water totally spoiled our G&T and we would recommend, should be avoided at all costs.
