Sadly the main course food was a touch on the cold side - the two seared Tuna mains were seared perfectly but left too long and served on a cold plate leaving fish and side fries to go cold. Management was very apologetic and offered a complimentary dessert which we accepted. The freshness of the tuna was outstanding - the tuna there is always fresh and excellently served usually.

We were looking forward to our first visit to Limoncello as it was closed last year while we were here. Unfortunately it was a big let down. The manageress did ask us if we were enjoying our meal and we should have been honest about that rather than saying yes we were in a typically British don’t want to complain way. My tuna was perfectly cooked although a sauce would have improved the dish. It was a very big portion and given the rather tasteless pasta puttanesca also contained tuna and we were encouraged to have it by the waitress, we wondered if it had been over ordered. No matter. That wouldn’t affect us. What did affect us to the extent of being disrespectful to us and the other customers was the lengthy commotion caused by the delivery of a large appliance to the kitchen. Made worse by the starting of drilling. Then we did complain and it stopped. We should have sat outside then perhaps we would have enjoyed the ambiance. Mind you it was windy. Quite windy inside too until the waitress kindly closed the window for us. My mother’s calamari was very rubbery, and she couldn’t eat it. We should have told the manager about that. The wine was good, the service ok without being sparkly, and the only gesture of hospitality that made us feel welcome was the provision of a blanket to sit on. For prices that are worthy of a good dining experience this fell a long way short. Sorry. We won’t be back.
