Delicious food and beautifully presented. Small portions. I do wish however that you would have local bottled water. Love that the chef came out to speak to us.

Thank you for an amazing evening. The steak club Friday was superb. Fresh bread with truffle butter served before the meal, scrumptious. I had the 300g scotch fillet which was so tasty done to perfection, my sides were the broccoli and almond butter and the roasted bone marrow. Both were really delicious. My family all enjoyed their steaks and sides with the garlic mash being a clear winner. The standard cheese sauce was incredible. Our service was really good with the sommelier entertaining us with lots of good advice. We had such a lovely evening and will definitely recommend the Palm house to all and be back again soon.

The starter was good and the 3 mains we had were all bad, the dessert was quite nice. One of the waiters had absolutely no clue about anything and didn't know anything about the menu (despite being nice and trying, it's not his fault he was completely untraine).

I went for the Friday steak special and I honestly feel like I underpaid immensely. I've been to higher-end restaurants and certain dishes can be a hit or miss. Everything I had here however was perfectly prepared and very tasty. Down to the wine included in the special. I'll be back to try everything else. WELL worth it, a must try.

A bit of a disappointment. We were the only people in the dining room and we had rather too much attention to the point that it became annoying. The wine list is limited and the wine VERY expensive. We tried to order a bottle of the only shiraz on the list and the sommelier arrived with a blend of shiraz and cab sauv and when we said we'd asked for shiraz he said they no longer had it. He then brought two other wines to taste as we'd decided to go for wine by the glass and both had been in the opened bottle for days. Not acceptable. The starter of beef carpaccio was fine but the main dish of fish with couscous was dry and the dehydrated leeks looked and tasted like grass. Not a success!! Chocolate dessert was a delicious success. The sommelier in an attempt to make good then brought us some more lovely ice cream as an apology. Lovely gesture but we were rather desserted-out by then.

Palm Terrace at Palm House responded on Thu 10 Oct 24:
Dear Ms Gracie, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I sincerely apologize that your recent dining experience didn’t meet your expectations. While we aim to provide attentive service, it sounds like we missed the mark, and for that, I’m truly sorry. We are reviewing the wine list and quality control on wines by the glass. Your comments on the main dish are noted, and we’ll address this with the kitchen team. I’m glad the chocolate dessert and homemade ice cream were highlights of the meal. We’d love the chance to make it right. We’ll be reaching out to you directly today. Kind Regards Ilze Henderson
