La Motte invites you to JAN Franschhoek, an exceptional food and wine experience presented from a charming historic cottage, the Veepos, right in the middle of the Franschhoek Valley’s most picturesque lavender fields. Based on the popular TV series, JAN Franschhoek, this seasonal culinary encounter shares a nostalgic story with food as told by South Africa’s first Michelin-starred chef, Jan-Hendrik van der Westhuizen.

JAN Franschhoek’s team will include a culinary collective led by JAN Group Executive Chef Antro Davel operating under Jan Hendrik as Culinary Director.

Dinner & lunch is served at one communal table.

    This really is an exclusive experience. There are only 12 guests, you meet at the manor house for bubbly and snacks and then get driven across to the venue (an old house from 1712 (I think that was date on the house) in an old VW Bully. Seating is at a long table and the house, including the kitchen, is open for you to walk around and talk to the chef and all staff. The decor is very special with the napkins hanging from the ceiling being an amusing touch. The food was excellent, especially the kookos was fabulous. All in a fantastic experience with excellent food and wine.

    the wine list needs some tinkering - maybe add some LaMotte Pierneef Shiraz, instead of the LaMotte Shiraz?
