They say money can't buy happiness, but it can buy a Hudsons burger - and that right there is the epitome of happiness.

The freshly baked golden bun with just the right amount of crisp outside and pillowy softness inside; don't underestimate the power of two really good buns, we certainly don't.

If you know us, we don't take life too seriously - we stay up too late, we play the music too loud and wear our jeans a little tighter than they should be. When it comes to our burgers though, it's serious business. We want to make sure that every last bite smacks you through the face with a big whack of happiness.

Thanks to our juicy, perfectly seasoned, sizzled, griddled and charred free-range beef patties, cradled oh-so-gently in-between those aforementioned bronzed buns and draped in our world-famous sauces with generous toppings, each mouthful is simply glorious.

    As very regular customers of Hudson’s the past few weekly visits have not been the best as they alsways are. Last week there was little attention given but it’s okay everyone is tired and it was end of the year so no stress. Yesterday was a different story and the staff showed it. I booked a table in the morning for 19:30 and later got a call that kitchen staff will close at 19:00 which is totally understandable, I asked if we make it 18:30 would that be okay since we were working till 18:00 I was told sure it’s perfect. We arrived before 18:30 and made sure we only ordered starters to make it easy. The first waitress took our order, a second waitress served only two of the snacks, that were unfortunately not warm,no side plates, no cutlery, fine no big deal, a third waitress came after we waved to query on the missing snacks and said she will check up. A different waitress arrived with a side plate of chips but not the other snacks. The original waitress never came around either. The third waitress eventually came and informed us that the short rib we ordered was already out of stock from the afternoon and apologized we were not informed, we asked for another side plate but by then the kitchen was about to close. We snacked on our three starters and realized we had no drinks, we again waved and the manager who is always lovely immediately called the waitress. The original waitress did not even come and apologize or explain the situation or ask if we need another drink. I get it’s the silly season and everyone is tired and wants to get home but if you make it a decision to stay open it’s always good to still deliver good service. I hate being a Karen and it’s never nice to give this type of feedback but yesterday was a build up and unfortunately the lack of customer service was not good. Things happen but all it takes is to come and explain. Alas we all human, hoping we get that stellar service and quality of food back that makes Hudson our local favorite.

    Sadly after confirming multiple times they called me late afternoon to say kitchen was closing 1/2 an hour after we arrive so we cancelled. Messed up our plans. I don’t have any an issue with them closing but then don’t take a booking and confirm it twice…
