The restaurant has a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere where guests can wind down at the end of a day full of activities or discuss the highlights of a productive conference meeting. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating options and on warm summer evenings, meals can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the Sabie River down below.

Hippo Hollow Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily from an à la carte menu that is regularly updated, which provides new and innovative ways to present local seasonal food at its best. The lunch menu features a selection of salads, light meals, pizzas and grill menu items to tickle your tastebuds as well as a kids menu to keep the little ones happy.

The dinner menu is more refined with delicate starters, game and fish dishes, as well as vegetarian options and an enticing dessert menu. Dishes are inspired by both international and traditional South African cuisine. Meals can be complemented by a selection of fine South African wines from our cellar.

    SENSATIONAL STAY. IT WAS MAGICAL. IN SPECIAL WE SAY THANKS TO AARON AND PINKY. BOTH SO FRIENDLY AND WE COULD TELL HOW MUCH THEY ENJOY WHAT THEY ARE DOING. THE RESTAURANT DECK WITH THE VIEW IN SPECIAL AT NIGHT AS WE GOT TO SEE THE HIPPOS GRAZING AND IN SPECIAL WE ASLO GOT TO SEE MAMA HIPPO WITH YOUNGER THAT THEN DISAPPEARED IN THE BUSH. UNFORGETABLE.. THANK YOU SO MUCH TO ALL STAFF MEMBERS FOR MAKING THIS TRIP SO FABULOUS. WE WILL BE BACK. JACQUELINE & ROGER

    It was a really great experience, the staff is too nice. From my experience of going to places that attract, locals tend to given poor treatment. But at the restaurant we were all given the same treatment. I’ll recommend the place to anyone at any day.
