For the love of food, Hemelhuijs opened its doors in October 2010 . The restaurant is a small oasis in the heart of Cape Town, South Africa and offers an ideal escape from hustle and bustle. Sit and watch the city go by while indulging in freshly made jewel-coloured juices, paradisal cocktails or custom blended coffee and order from the all-day menu.

Heavenly sounds in Hemelhuijs... escaping steam from the espresso machine. Cappuccino foam and cinnamon, heavenly smells, heavenly tastes, steam fresh ciabatta. Crumbs on the table, asparagus on the palate, ginger on the nose, black salt, and green dhania. Red, red wine, ginger, and ripe tomato.

    I can never come to CT and not go have breakfast here. The food is always spectacular and the orange polenta cake is a favourite

    The chicken was not available. The burger roll was soggy. The citrus peel served with the fish was an enigma. Seating was not good. A table for 3 was seated at a table meant for 2. Space limited.

    One of the very very few restaurants in CT that offers an all round superb dining experience-perfect food, stylish ambiance, good service. I just love coming here; thank you to the team that make this possible; it's a treat to eat at HH.

    Hemelhuijs is always an enjoyable experience. The food is so tasty, delicious and beautifully presented and the staff are always friendly and charming. We love the whole experience

    We love your food but my partner Marilyn ordered The Black chicken dish and the chicken was very dry. It was exchanged but the replacement still had very dry chicken. My burger was excellent and all the sauces are delicious. Kind regards, Saxon Logan

    Absolutely love Hemelhuijs and definitely the best breakfast (and rosti) in Cape Town. Our visitors from out of town also were impressed by the quality of the food, value and whole experience. Thank you
