The old stable, dated 1767, houses the recently restored restaurant, a charming blend of past and present. Features like the original stone floor and wooden mangers blend seamlessly with modern, comfortable furniture while historic photographs and bespoke blue Dutch tiles line the old walls.

Meals are also served outside on the grassed terrace which boasts a spectacular view of the Boland mountains and is surrounded by a neat, colourful garden. Dishes have been designed to complement the Groot Phesantekraal wines with generous flavours and modern flourishes.

    Pickled radish with bread wasn't great The starter mussels were very good and such a generous portion Lamb was delicate and cooked great however there was a bit(almost burnt) undertone coming through. Not sure if it was the sauce or aubergine and if it was by design Pavlova was amazing as usual
