While the 18th century Manor House and The Owner’s Cottage reflect their Huguenot heritage, The Restaurant and wine tasting area of Grande Provence project a chic industrial presence.

High-backed chairs upholstered in white leather draw the eye to the centre of the deep blue-grey hand-plastered walls, while deeply recessed windows frame the picturesque view from the interior.

Crisp white linen napery criss-crosses the table tops and the polished glasses and cutlery gleam with care and attention.

Over the winter months the flickering light of a log fire joins the candlelight to enhance the warmth and attentive hospitality at The Restaurant.

Leading off The Restaurant is the welcoming wine-tasting area. The bar dominates the centre of the room – striking in galvanised steel with black strapping. A touch of fun is evident with the tractor seat bar stools, while a fireplace and upholstered chairs soften the perimeter of the room, inviting guests savour every sip of the Estates award-winning wines.

I visited Grande Provence for years/ yesterday I was more than disappointed concerning everything: the food was not that quality and high standard, I was used to. Waiting was much too long

Starters Smoked pork was excellent, salmon ceviche dish was a lot smaller in comparison and the salmon a little too thickly sliced. Mains Risotto and beef fillet both very good in terms of presentation, flavour and portion size. Desserts Passion fruit desert was very good with subtle flavours and varied textures The Chocolate Forest was very disappointing both in terms of the lack of any discernible chocolate elements and the meagre size certainly compared with the passion fruit dessert. Our server any told us that other diners had also commented on the disappointing lack of chocolate in a dessert which promised much from the menu description. Overall the meal was a pleasant experience with very good service in a lovely setting but left feeling that the meal didn't leave me feeling wowed compared with other dining experiences on our month long culinary trip
