We take "affiliation" with our sister company, The Franschhoek Beer Company, seriously – seriously fun, that is! Our bar is like a culinary playground, where FBC beer flows as freely as laughter.     We have been to Franks many times and really enjoy the vibe. My daughter and I stopped by yesterday for a quick bite. We had the squid which we love so much and sometimes have asked for a double portion (as a main meal) which they have done for us. Sadly to say…yesterday ‘s meal was disappointing. The service was good The vibe was good. Hope this was just an off day , as we consider this, one of our favourite local spots and the standards have always been good.

    The ambiance is great but the management need to seriously up their game on the food front. I had a tuna tataki starter and the tuna was awful, dry and definitely not freshly cooked. My wife had a prawn cocktail which and bland and tasteless. I had a sole meunière which was dry and overcooked. You get the drift. Do better.
