want to bring to your attention my disappointing experience at the Firelake Sunday Roast yesterday. Having previously enjoyed the breakfast buffet during July schoolholidays last year, i was keen to partake of your Sunday roast It was also hubby's birthday so we looked forward to a pleasurable afternoon out at a stunning venue with equally stunning views Alas, it was all for nought. Only 2 roasts were offered The lamb was EXTREMELY tough and hard to cut into, let alone chew The hake was drowning in a sauce (I use this word loosely) that was so watery I had to leave it aside after one bite The only curry offered was a chicken curry (again, I use this word very loosely) was more of a boiled chicken in a tomato sauce. Very unappetising. The only roast vegetable offered was butternut There was not a roast potato in sight - standard offering at a roast, surely! The only plus in this other dismal affair was our waiter, Sbonelo, who was fast, attentive and very personable Having read other reviews online, it seems this is par for the course

It is a lovely restaurant to be at to celebrate special occasions. The food was excellent and the staff are extremely friendly. Qiniso - you are wonderful.

This food is not worth the price you pay - too expensive for the poor quality. Grilled seabass was bland and rubbery. None of the seafood was fresh. Service was poor. Would not recommend Firelake.

Note to self next time order medium to rare instead of medium to well done as I prefer a softer texture.

The food prices are way too high compared to what you get. The mutton and chicken curry that we had was so bland and not even a curry, the butter chicken didn’t even have cream, the mutton curry was not a curry, you need a better chef that can understand food science and recipe costings. I think the local take aways sell better tasting food and affordable. Maybe you should go try these local smaller restaurants and gain some insight , very disappointing and upsetting for what we paid and what we got
