Why is Mr Chau called Chunky Chau? Because Mr Chau is not 'fat'.

‘Chunky’, on the other hand, can be used to refer to someone who is short and muscular. Being short and broad shouldered, he looks heavy. Unlike ‘fat’, ‘chunky’ does not have a negative connotation. In fact, according to some books on usage, native speakers sometimes use the word to indicate affection.

    Had the chow mein and Singapore noodles and it was just outstanding! One of my favorite neighborhood go to’s with a lovely tranquil outdoor area. ♥️

    Great, friendly service from Mimi and all the other staff. Portions are generous and extremely tasty and great presentation.

    Waiters were very friendly that made up for the bad service. Food was average. One would have thought that the restaurant was extremely busy, with only 5 tables occupied. Ordered drinks from the manager, 30min later we had to remind her about it, clearly she had forgotten about the order. Food took for ever to arrive. They did not deliver on what was promised when booking was made for my wife’s birthday. Apparently they do a plate for dessert with name of birthday person - did not arrive. Would certainly not go back to the Sandton Chunky Chau - very disappointed

    Food was amazing and very tasty! Service was great, although the food took quite long to come out of the kitchen. Overall a good experience and well worth the "restaurant month" special.

    The food was amazing, definitely 10/10. The staff were super friendly. We were served by Uyanda and he provided excellent service. One of those places were you can go multiple times and still enjoy it.
