A LONG TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE.

During the American Civil War, a new breed of entrepreneur was born, the Cattle Barons. These immensely rich and powerful men, along with their cowboys moved millions of unattended Texan cattle vast distances across the Kansas plains to railheads for transport to market centres. This helped to generate income which stabilized the war-torn Texan economy. In the process, jerry-built cattle towns such as Abilene, Wichita & Dodge became infamous and the Cattle Barons became legends.

The Cattle Baron restaurant concept originated in 1987 in the heart of Bellville. Popular demand dictated the need to open more outlets and the many awards that have been won in the prestigious Steakhouse of the Year competition by various Cattle Baron branches over the past years bears testimony to our success story.

    A fabulous steak with good service. Our waiter offered us a window seat so we could enjoy the view over the bay which would have been spectacular if only the windows had been cleaned! An added bonus was the 20% discount on steaks on a Tuesday. Don't let the windows put you off, the food and the service are superb.

    The buffet took a bit about a 1 hour to get ready. Though the wait was worth it. The food was great.

    Excellent steaks, good service and very welcoming, attentive staff. Also a table right by the window, overlooking the ocean, was the icing on the cake.

    Food and service was good, thank you. We just waited very long for our food and there were only a few other tables.

    Probably the best steak you will have. Amazing Chateaubriand, and they do it for one as well as for two or four. Great service from Gift and lovely to be next to the sea. Could be a bit more cosy.

    I was disappointed with the Meal as it was not upto the Cattle Baron standard. I feel that things have gone downhill since my last visit. I will not be returning

    The service was abysmal, from our arrival to our departure. I am not sure if there were not enough waiters on shift or what the problem may have been, but it was a dismal service. I specifically mentioned when I booked that it was a 72 birthday celebration, but that was not even mentioned during the meal. We waited more than 15 minutes for a cool drink, and when the waiter finally brought it to our table, it was unopened and no glass was provided. Our steaks were also not prepared to order. I do not recommend this branch to anyone.
