Its a stunning beautiful venue, however I would not recommend large group bookings for picnics. I completely understand the weather is not in anyones control, but one would expect that such a large venue is well-seasoned in handling that type of situation with good leadership and management skills, and clear communication. If the weather does turn be aware there is no contingency plan (especially if you are having an event which cannot be cancelled or moved to another date) unless you as the customer insist on this repeatedly. There is no single contact person to liaise with and at every phone call you will have to deal with a different member of staff that often has no idea what the previous member of staff agreed to, or a plan that has been made. We had phone call conversations for around 2 days before our event to check to make sure they could help to accommodate our large group with weather considerations (as we were not able to rebook for another day), and to ask them to please consider helping us to move inside if needed. We were “reassured” by a member of staff that at the very least they would place us on the deck given the circumstances of our group of ladies were flying in from other countries to join this pre-wedding celebration. About an hour later a different member of staff called me to try to cancel our booking. I informed him that I had just been assured (after a lengthy conversation) that a plan would be made, by a different staff member. He then said he would just ask the manager to give me a call. Never received that call. I myself followed up again a few hours later, this time told by again a different person that now they had made a lounge pocket plan (which was a great solution) due to limited space. We were grateful and happy with this plan. When I arrived early on the day there was no lounge solution to be found, nor did anyone at the venue have any idea of any of the preceding conversations. They had set up for us outside as a picnic. I then politely told them we were not happy with this as the weather was rather touch and go, and asked where the lounge pocket was that they had referred to. There was none. There was no manager that seemed to be in control of any of these sort of unforeseen problems. We found two eager waiters who were amazing and helped with my requests to help create a spot for us inside before guests arrived. It felt strange to be at a well known venue organising and directing their own staff, even though technically I was also a guest and paying customer there. These waiters were really helpful, but I was disappointed that this did not come from any directive of the venue (no manager or senior staff member), it was just out of the kindness of the waiters hearts that they hurried around to help us put something together. We asked them to allocate themselves to our (now) table, which they did amazing well, and we made sure that we gave then a very large tip at the end. Overall, the food was delicious and we had a great time, but as an organiser of many social events I would not recommend booking with this venue for large groups that may be of an inflexible or change of plan capacity. The venue does not seem to have strong leadership ready to help with contingency plans or (at the very, very least) solid-streamlined communication that is reliable. If you are bringing a large group make sure you as the organiser get there early and are happy to take some of the matters into your own hands, with no check in or apology or assistance from the manager or senior staff. Be nice to the waiters- the two that helped us in the end were eager and kind, they deserve medals and a salary increase.

It was an amazing experience. A well needed break from the hustle and bustle. The food was exceptional. It was good value for money as we could not even finish it all. We had the standard basket and loved the onion jam. The tomatoe pate/sauce was a bit underwhelming. We weren't sure what to pair it with...cheese or meat? But everything else was super delicious. The wine was amazing and a wonderful recommend by our waiter. The view was mesmerizing and so peaceful. As for the service, this too was top notch. Thank you for a phenomenal experience.

Everything was great, my only advice is for someone to periodically come and move the umbrella as the sun shifts. It became cumbersome to move the umbrella ourselves😌
