The Brass Bell Restaurants and Pubs, located in the trendy harbour town of Kalk Bay, is situated in False Bay, one of the most beautiful places on earth.

Surrounded by the rolling waves, the restaurant complex of terraced dining areas, is nestled into the tidal pool walls, and offers visitors an unforgettable and truly unique seaside dining experience. Built in 1939, the Brass Bell’s humble beginning as a council-run “Tea Room” is a far cry from the bustling complex of waterfront dining venues that it is today.

Brass Bell’s owner, Tony White has pioneered the ongoing development of the Brass Bell Restaurants and Pubs, and together with his dynamic hospitality team, has turned the Brass Bell from a once quaint seaside bistro into a beloved household name, boasting an impressive series of 9 different dining and events venues.

The location and splendour of this magical place has captured the imagination and hearts of tourists and locals alike, and it is now a world renowned and well-loved hotspot; welcoming guests with our warm hospitality and superb menu selections.

The online booking system is useless, as nobody checks the computers at the Brass Bell. Booked online, got a confirmation email and when we got to the Brass Bell, there was no record of it. We had requested a window seat, but the only ones available were right next to the door with staff going in and out. Not happy!

The burger was nice and tasty but the chips were very salty. Everyone enjoyed their meal.

Very good food- particularly enjoyed the calamari. Lovely atmosphere in the enclosed patio which overlooked the pool and ocean. However, it was hard to find this area as there was no-one to greet us or direct us to our table- different areas were not well sign-posted so we ended up going past the bar area first. This didn't overshadow our dining experience though which was lovely!

The Oyster deck was a simple dining experience but with good wholesome food and drinks options. We enjoyed our fish and chips with an Aperol Spritz. Service was quick and our waiter was full of fun. Sitting with the waves breaking below you is an awesome sight.
