We would like to inform you of roadworks currently affecting several key roads leading to Boschendal, including:
Paarl Main Road (R101)
Klapmuts/Simondium Road (exit from the N1)
Simondium Road (R45) right at the turnoff to Boschendal
If you're traveling from Cape Town, the roadworks may cause delays of up to 1 hour. Please take this into consideration when planning your visit, whether for an event or a reservation.

Boschendal wine farm boasts some of the most picturesque views in the Cape Winelands, with dramatic mountain vistas visible from the lush lawns. So, it’s no surprise that the estate has become a popular picnic spot, as families and friends come together for a day out.

Enjoy a leisurely afternoon complemented by the best local, seasonal produce and treats. Our Werf picnic baskets include food made from our natural farm produce including freshly baked bread, green salads from our Werf Food Garden, free-range, handmade charcuterie cuts from the Boschendal Butchery, homemade preserves and one celebrated desserts.

The seasonal picnic menus do change depending on what our food garden is producing.

    My only criticism was the live, mostly jazz music. WAY TOO LOUD!! We could not hear each other speak. The atmosphere for the picnic on the lawn under the trees is gloriously tranquil and peaceful. No need for music if any kind.

    Good food but rather expensive for what you get. The basket needs more cheese variations. Maybe add some more lawn games.

    We absolutely loved it! Coming from Europe, we have a lot of wine estates around, but not the “Southern African” way. Combining wine, food, shops, activities, is such a great idea! The picnic was on point: the variety and quality of the food, the kindness of the staff, the location. Such a relaxing moment. We absolutely recommend!

    We had a great stay with you! The only thing we noticed was the same pricing for vegetarian baskets, but not as much food as in the meat ones. We also had troubles to use the bathroom because there are not many stalls.

    Boschendal is a beautiful venue and the service was very good My major criticism relates to the size of the picnic basket and the quantality of food per basket , that then relates to the price we have to pay. No 1 human being , even a man can eat that quantality of food and so much food goes to waste. We were a large group of people on Sunday, and every single person commented and complained about the same thing I took 3 "doggy bags" away, and gave them away I hate to see food wasted and that is what is happening Please reconsider the portions and then charge a more realistic price The other alternative is allow people to share a basket ?? Many Thanks
