Come sit around our fire so we can serve you up a story.
A plate of taste and time.

Recipes from old Africa burnt into the desert sand, passed down to us by the gods. Taste centuries of flavor, discover notes of spice and be engulfed by the scent of delicate smoke ribbons as they deliver offerings from our menu to the sky. Let us warm your face, heart and appetite by open flame as laughter echoes from table to table, Karoo to Kalahari, from our Boma to the stars.

Boma is a place where meals and stories are shared around a fire and in that spirit, we bring together everything Western Cape, from The Karoo to the West Coast with tastes from Cape Malay, Tshisa Nyama and Afrikaans kitchens all cooked over the open fire. The menu is a journey that is served sharing style, from small bites to larger plates and we would love for you to enjoy it family style.

The magic in our one-of-a-kind menu is crafted within the aromas of ash, smoke and flame. The menu is simple yet elevated with an added Boma-spark. Our culinary experience is focused on quality produce allowing space for adventure and fun. In the spirit of collaboration, we have taken hands with amazing and passionate local producers to stay true to our ethos of sustainable
eating practices.

This is our Boma. Our fire. Our menu. Our narrative. Our tribe.
Come gather in our circle of flame. Where heat sparks and smoke wanders, where fire means kinship and the tastes of Africa follows you home.

What a great evening our at Boma on Bree. I had some friends down from the UK and it was perfect to get them to experience our braai style food here in SA. The service was great and we knocked back a good couple frozen Paloma's, which were also on special until 6pm, which is always a win. The cool umbrellas outside that bend sideways were crucial as it was piping hot and kept us shaded for the whole stay, until the sun went down. We did the 2-course menu for R195 which was great value for money and were given some tasty, dusted popcorn on the house to enjoy with our first round of drinks. Nice touch! The highlights of the meals were definitely the boneless peri peri half chicken, the sauce was on the side which was great. The forgotten carrots were incredible, probably the best I have ever had. The one vegetarian with us loved the Swart Kat Broccoli salad. The Skaap Ribs were insane, nice and fatty and worth the R80 extra for sure! We will be back, five stars all round!

The service received on the night wasn’t great. We had a very inexperienced waiter that didn’t really know how to serve us at times, he seemed quite unsure of himself and we tried our best to try and be accommodating and help him but that unfortunately didnt really help hence the 2 star rating for service. Everything else though was great and I’ll definitely be coming back in future, just hoping to be served by a different waiter

Food was good, but service was shocking. We brought our own cake, but never got our Valentines desert as per the menu we paid for. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and everything was a bit chaotic. We also got told from the get go that they have over booked the restaurant, so we had limited seating time which made the whole evening feel rushed. Would not recommend this on special occasion days.

We had the Braai Platter, the meat was more burnt and very chewy. Service was the worst our waiter was not even bothered to check on the table kept passing numerous times, we got served a Bottle of White wine without being in an ice bucket, the waiter brought ice cubes in a glass for us to use, we had to ask is that their standard of serving wine for him to explain that the Barman gave him like that. With the service received from Fisto would not go back here.
