The kitchen is the domain of Annie Badenhorst. A talented young Namibian chef with a passion for finding only the best fresh produce and creatively turning dishes into simple but creative menu items.

You can expect outstanding views, a casual and relaxed daytime eatery in the harmonious Hermanus. With outdoor covered seating areas. We offer our guests a choice of delishes dishes, paired with sensational wine from Benguela Cove’s Winery. In the evening, Chef Badenhorst likes to cook to create a memorable occasion.     We did a reservation for a nice dinner for Friday Night 6 pm, but there was only a very small Tapas Menu to have. We were very unhappy, that Dineplan didn’t inform us about this! Jeannine Menzl from Switzerland

    The restaurant had only 5 tables occupied including us, but the service was appalling. We had to wait for our guests so ordered coffee. It took ages to arrive and then was Luke warm. Despite ordering extra hot. I think it stood on a counter too long before serving. The bead basket was grossly disappointing. The nuts were mostly cheap peanuts in the smallest dish I have ever seen. Likewise with the olives. The ciabatta was good. The waitress forgot the water order, I had to remind her, and our main course took ages to arrive. In excess of 30 minutes. When it did, the one course was totally wrong, and we had to wait another 15 minutes on top of a lengthy wait. The maitre D hovered around but he should have been keeping tabs on orders and deliveries. It was the most expensive breakfast we have had in South Africa, and very disappointing from all aspects. We happily pay those prices for something special, but nothing about our morning was even satisfactory. We live on Arabella estate and could use this venue regularly but the bad experience was not worth a repeat performance in our view.

    Food was exceptional. Could not find fault with any of the courses served! Our server Stephanie was very attentive and on point. The restaurant manager Martin was on hand and made sure everything was to our satisfaction.

    I ordered scrambled eggs & smoke salmon & got an omelette with bacon in it, when they replaced it 15 minutes later I got scrambled eggs & NO smoked salmon. Also at 1030 am there was a guy moping the floors! Normally excellent service here.

    A wonderful surprise as you enter Benguela Cove - beautiful setting in lush gardens and fascinating artwork. The restaurants are spacious and the food is top class. And you have wine cellars and tasting facilities. Also a large area that caters for families with children.
