Provenance is the key to the multisensory experience of wine, and at Atlas Swift we aim to make this palpable with a horizontal tasting of five Chardonnays from different regions. Each wine is a spiritual ode to Martin and Welma Smith's connection to the land and the fruit it produces, individual expressions of a particular place that celebrates the diversity of the South African wine realm.

We also have a vintage car collection on the property that guests can view when they are visiting us.

We had a wonderful wine tasting at Atlas Swift! The setting is fantastic, with a beautiful view of the mountains surrounding Franschhoek, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Our visit to Atlas Swift was an exceptional experience. The highlight was our tasting session led by Assistant Winemaker Evert, whose knowledge and passion truly elevated our visit. Evert went above and beyond, providing detailed insights into each wine and, upon learning of our specific interests, even treated us to samples straight from the cellar - a unique and personal touch that we greatly appreciated. The wines themselves were impressive, showcasing the skill and dedication of the Atlas Swift team. Each sip told a story of the terroir and the careful craftsmanship that goes into every bottle. We also indulged in the platter for two, which surprisingly and generously satisfied our group of four. The quality and quantity of the food perfectly complemented the wine tasting experience. The stunning views of the vineyards and the warm, welcoming atmosphere of the tasting room added to the overall charm of Atlas Swift. I wholeheartedly recommend this hidden gem to wine enthusiasts and casual visitors alike!

Dear Gosia Thank you so much for the beautiful review. Evert enjoyed hosting your group so much. Until next time. Kind regards Welma Smith Owner

No Kitchen, so there was no food.

Dear Matt Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. We are not a restaurant, but we serve platters and small plates that complements our wines. Dineplan is used as a booking system, not just for restaurants, but wine tasting centres all over the western Cape. We trust you enjoyed our wines. Kind regards Welma Smith Owner

This is a Chardonnay all day kind of place. If you like Chardonnay, then their tasting of 5 from different regions in SA is brilliant. Food was nice but bread was stale. Value was decent and I grabbed a few bottle home with me. Service of the waiter was average but of the sommelier that did the wine tasting itself - fantastic! Ambience is okay but there are places with far more gorgeous views in Franschhoek. That said, if Chardonnay is your thing, this place is not to be missed.

Atlas Swift responded on Mon 12 Feb 24:
Dear Tana Thank you so much for the visit to our family winery, and for taking the time to write a review on your experience.  We are grateful you enjoyed our Chardonnays. The bread we serve is freshly baked daily from our local bakery, so I'm really sorry you found it not to your preference. Thank you for the suggestion of adding butter to the platter, we do prefer the local olive oil, but have taken your suggestion to heart and will add this for future guests. Thank you so much again for the feedback, it is really valuable for us to improve.  Thank you for the support and we trust you will enjoy the Chardonnays again.  Kind regards Welma Smith Owner of Atlas Swift
