Dineplan reviews are diner-generated content that allows diners to provide a rating score between 1 and 5 and review content based on the diner’s experience at the restaurant. The rating and reviews are intended to help other diners visiting the Dineplan website or App to find a restaurant which best suits their needs and dining requirements. The ratings and reviews are also intended to help restaurants gain valuable feedback from their diners in order to assist the restaurant in understanding whether their offerings and service are up to the standards their diners are expecting. All reviews are subject to our review posting guidelines. Reviews for each restaurant can be found on their listing page on the Dineplan website and App.
Only a user who has booked and honored a reservation through Dineplan is able to submit a rating and review. This is determined by the status of the diner’s Dineplan reservation on the restaurant account. This guarantees that the person submitting the rating and review has in fact dined at the restaurant. This keeps the integrity of Dineplan ratings and reviews high and prevents “false/deceiving” reviews by diners who did not experience the restaurant’s services. The Dineplan Review also provides the restaurant with valuable information on the diner submitting the review, such as their booking dates and contact details for the reservation, further enhancing the value of a Dineplan review for a restaurant.
In order to maintain the integrity of the Dineplan reviews all Dineplan restaurant clients accept that reviews, whether positive or negative, will not be removed from the Dineplan website unless they do not meet our Review Standards as described below.
Dineplan ratings and reviews listed on the Dineplan website and App are intended to benefit both the Dineplan Diner as well as our restaurant partners. For our Dineplan Diner, the reviews help with their decision-making process in determining which restaurant to dine at, as well as to offer them a space where they can share their experiences to help other diners with the same process. For our restaurant partners, the reviews are a space where diners can provide useful feedback and insight to the restaurant into how they enjoyed their experience as well as help promote future reservations from other diners as reviews help diners to make informed decisions on where to dine.
The following standards help us to maintain the high quality and integrity of the reviews on our Dineplan website and App. They also form a guide for the users submitting reviews as to what is appropriate for a submission. As long as a review meets the below standards, whether it is a positive or negative review, it will be published on our website. We do not actively monitor all reviews and if any reviews are seen to not meet the below standards it is required for users, both Diners and Restaurant users, to alert us to the review and we will investigate and decide based on the below standards whether the review will be removed or not.
Dineplan Reviews, whether negative or positive, are intended to be helpful to both the restaurant as well as other diners. For this purpose, a good review will not only include a rating and how the diner user felt about their experience, but also an explanation as to why they felt this way. A review that only includes a rating without an appropriate explanation is not helpful to the restaurant or other diners.
Only Diners who have actually dined at the restaurant, as indicated by their reservation status on their Dineplan reservation, are provided with the option to submit a review. Reviews should be given freely for the benefit of the Dineplan community and never in exchange for special treatment or personal gain. Dineplan will not edit the text of a published review on our website.
It is important to keep the topics being reviewed relevant to the restaurant experience. These are topics that follow the rating criteria of the review, such as food quality, value of the meal, ambience of the restaurant and the service of the restaurant staff. Reviews should not include personal biases towards any staff or restaurant owners that have no effect on the service or experience received. Reviews containing irrelevant, inappropriate, or promotional content may be removed without notice.
Reviews that are offensive, obscene, or malicious or that reference illegal activity or conditions will be removed. Out of respect for the privacy of those who work in the restaurant, full names or other identifying characteristics should be avoided (first names are acceptable). The diner submitting the review is given the option of submitting the review as private. This will submit the review directly to the restaurant without the review being submitted to the Dineplan website and App publicly. Use this private review if needing to share feedback regarding specific staff members or incidents directly to the restaurant.
If your review has been removed, you are welcome to contact support@dineplan.com for an explanation as to why the review was deemed inappropriate. To avoid having your review removed, please make sure to read and obey the guidelines as provided.
