    Simply WOW! From the welcome by Concierge to the further welcome in the Vista Lounge, to the attentive service and description of the Afternoon Tea by highly competent waiters, to the relaxing ambiance and stunning views, simply WOW! Not our first experience of Afternoon Tea at the One and Only and some of Cape Town's other 5* Hotels so we already had high expectations, which were undoubtedly exceeded. This was a highlight of our stay in Cape Town which we've recommended to our family and friends. We will definitely return for another Afternoon Tea experience at the One and Only Hotel.

    A Festive High Tea to Remember at the One&Only Cape Town There are high teas, and then there is the One&Only Cape Town high tea experience — a show-stopping celebration of opulence, festive charm, and culinary delights that’s been the talk of the town. As the event drew to a close, it was clear that this spectacular affair had set a new bar for what a high tea could be. From start to finish, every moment was a reflection of the resort’s meticulous attention to detail and dedication to creating an unforgettable experience. Upon arrival, the ambiance wrapped you in a sense of luxury, but it was the welcome drink that truly kicked things off with a bang. A beautifully infused signature rooibos tea ice, perfectly crafted for Cape Town’s scorching summer, was a refreshing blend of honey, pineapple, and subtle secret ingredients that only the One&Only team seems to know. The crispness of the rooibos was elevated by the delightful coolness of the ice, setting the stage for what was to come. And come it did, in the form of the star-studded high tea display. The one-of-a-kind backdrop of Table Mountain framed the expansive windows, adding to the sense of grandeur. As we sipped on chilled iced coffee, so rich it felt like a velvet serenade, we were surrounded by an array of beautifully presented sweet and savory treats that could only be described as a feast for the senses. The savory canapés were pure indulgence. Duck canapés kicked things off with their richness, followed by the delicate flavors of lamb — a nod to the resort’s commitment to both local produce and exceptional flavor. Of course, no high tea is complete without a nod to the classics, and One&Only did not disappoint. The chicken sandwiches — simple, yet executed to perfection — stood out among the savory bites, while the salmon offered a refreshing and delicate contrast. But let’s not forget the sweets — the true stars of the show. The highlight, and perhaps the most Instagram-worthy moment, were the cherry-backed scones. Fresh from the oven, they were baked to crisp perfection, with a warmth that was palpable in every bite. As if on cue, whipped cream cascaded over the scones, melting almost instantly, adding a decadent touch of indulgence. It was a moment that could only be described as sheer bliss. Throughout it all, the One&Only team was exceptional. Their festive spirit and unrelenting attention to detail made guests feel like royalty. The staff not only demonstrated a deep knowledge of the offerings but also an enthusiasm for sharing the joy of the occasion, making the entire event feel personalized and special. Another round of berry iced tea arrived with impeccable timing — refreshing and perfectly balanced, it was the kind of thoughtful touch that made you feel completely taken care of. As if the culinary offerings weren’t enough, the entertainment was a perfect complement to the overall vibe. The pianist serenaded guests with soulful tunes, setting the tone for a relaxed afternoon that gradually swung into a vibrant sunset, with new talent taking over the stage to close out the experience on a high note. The cherry on top? A unique suggestion from the team: a dash of tequila in the rooibos tea selection. It may sound unconventional, but in the hands of the One&Only team, it was a revelation — a playful twist that added just the right amount of zing to the afternoon. It’s clear that there is only One&Only in Cape Town — and if you had the privilege of attending this festive high tea, you already know why. Every element, from the exquisite food to the exceptional service and lively entertainment, came together to create a festive experience that was truly unforgettable.
