    It was a rainy evening in March 2025, when we decided to have dinner at Tokara. The location outside of Stellenbosch is one of the most attractive wineries/restaurants in the area. As we were a little early - the restaurant opens at 18:00 pm - we spent the waiting time in the launch, enjoying the great views out of the big windows down to the vineyard and to the far picturesque scenery. Since the low temperature was not so much inviting, we preferred to sit inside instead of taking a table in the glazed-in deck. We were welcomed by a very friendly and good looking young waitress, who explained us the five course menü. The restaurant was not more than halfway filled with guests at this time. Therefore we were wondering, why it took more than an hour until the first course was served. The single courses were prepared with dedication, although the portions were only small delicacies. Therefore I see the price-performance comparison rather at the high end. Despite the bad weather it was a nice evening to celebrate the successful installation of a new enclosure of our patio at home.
