The Wild Fig Restaurant is a fully licensed Restaurant and Bar situated on a portion of the historic Valkenburg Estate. Our bar is situated in the original barn which is a National Monument. We have beautiful outdoor seating areas as well as private dining areas. We cater for all manner of events such as functions, conference, weddings, cocktail functions, breakfasts and celebrations.

    Room for improvement is the waitress never introduced herself & some soft instrumental music would only improve the ambiance.

    Always love the Wild Fig. While it is on the expensive side, it is well worth it. Service and food always great and I love the setting - especially the outside space in summer.

    It's been a while since I visited the Wild Fig, and they did not disappoint. The food was very good, the ambience cozy and welcoming without being too laid back/slack and everything seemed well kept up (the restrooms are spotless). Well done, we'll be back again.

    As annual visitors to S.A. we always meet up with old friends at the Wild Fig and, as usual, thoroughly enjoyed our visit. However, my in Beet Salad was very disappointing - too much coarse green salad and not enough dressing and they forgot my side order of chips. Friends all gave the Butter Chicken a thumb's up.

    Patrons to be advised timeously of any other dishes available other than your standard menu. Waiters to be more welcoming and have a pleasant disposition. Willing to discuss this further should you so wish. Thanks

    Ordered the roast, chicken was not cooked through.beef was dry and could’ve have more gravy. Otherwise service and ambience was great
