Our flagship restaurant named after founder of The Ranch, Mr Basil Shearer – Basil’s fine dining restaurant is the best way to describe The Ranch family business since it was founded in 1960 and continues to be run with the same passion and commitment that Paul and father Tom Shearer continue to strive for uncompromising standards and service culture.

Today Basil’s is headed up by Head Chef Daniel Gee and highly qualified chefs that learnt their trade though learning from other chefs at The Ranch over the years and their commitment to offering an extra ordinary dining experience in Basil’s.

The Basil’s team is well known for hosting special food and wine pairing’s that is accompanied by the wine maker. There is no other restaurant in the north that is more eagerly anticipated than a dining evening in Basil’s.

    Avoid more salt on cooked foods especially meat,samp and anywhere were salt is added. Most people have HBP nowadays

    The waiters were a little bit overwhelmed. Took a while to bring drinks when we made orders. You could see they are serving a lot of patrons all at once and they were overwhelmed. Suggestion: add more staff on weekends. Otherwise they did their best; Geofrey and his relive whom I forgot his name.

    The meat for me did not cut it, other than that everything else was supper dope
