The legendary Grill Room has been renowned for its fine dining and outstanding cuisine for almost 70 years.

Under the culinary leadership of the Executive Chef, the menu is an inspired combination of classic favourites, created by Bea Tollman, president and founder of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection, the restaurants Signature Dishes and contemporary creations, inspired by current global trends.

Classic Grill Room touches include the authentic Gueridon service, where food is prepared and presented at the individual diners table and the Classic 1920s Hors d Oeuvres Trolley, with an extensive range of 18 ‘old world appetizers.

With over 50 years of experience, Maitre‘d Hendry Pakiri, still presides over the elegant dining room.

    We had a very disappointing meal at The Grill Room. Very fishy smelling salmon with the crudo, terribly dry chicken and not a tournedo but wings, overdone beef with the steak Diane, yellowtail served instead of Kingklip, well done salmon served when we asked for seared. The highlight was the crepe suzette flambeyed at the table but all in all a very disappointing meal. The food should be spot on when charging such high prices and with such a good reputation.

    Portions were very small and expensive. Not very satisfying. Have to purchase starter, main and desserts to be satisfied. Staff were excellent. Had attention to detail. Breads that were served, was fresh. It was my birthday and they gave us a complimentary surprise on the desserts, small canapés of different desserts, which was so tasty. It was truly magical, the ambience was overwhelming. The music, songs and entertainment was soothing. I had a perfect birthday celebration Thank you

    We were deeply disappointed with the food that evening. The quality was subpar, and we had to send the steak back as it was too tough to cut. This was far from the standard we’ve come to expect from the Grill Room. What was meant to be a milestone celebration was marred by the poor food quality. Unfortunately, it seems the restaurant has lost its touch. My guests even remarked that we should have prioritized quality over ambiance and dined at Olive and Oil instead. Frankly, I was embarrassed.
