A South African grillroom, ROOI’s menu is a celebration of land and sea, touched by fire.

Diners can expect seasonal, comfort homegrown produce crafted with local flavours and traditions, in an elegant and contemporary setting, served alongside a proudly South African beverage list featuring signature cocktails inspired by the nine provinces.

Kindly note that balloons and table décor are not permitted in any of the public venues at One&Only Cape Town Cape Town. Private venues are available upon request.

    The standards and selection of food has DEFINITELY dropped since our last visit in 2023. There were empty counters in the the cereal 'room' where previously those counters were filled with offerings. Even with the sweets counter, previously it was a longer counter with a larger variety. Even the slices of toast with the hot breakfast was smaller than normal. The beverage and drink 'master', Mickey was AMAZING in his attitude and service and never hesitated to assist or make any juice combo required. The staff are great. Always smiling and happy to make celebrations special.

    Food is excellent but brought down by poor marketing and a stifling hotel ambience. And the menu doesn’t explain what is South African and why this food is different. The decor feels like a sun city hotel - it’s trashy like the carpet is awful - I get it has animals on it but you can’t see them so why bother. Why not have African jazz playing? The salad section is not great and that includes the vegetables - SA has great produce - so show it off and make great dishes with it. The food is absolutely fantastic but you wouldn’t know that looking at the menu which is written in a very old school style. And three fish dishes on the whole menu - they were delicious but surely there should be more in a city in the coast. So much potential but let down unnecessarily. I really hope this restaurant finds its feet because SA styles food deserves a special place.

    I loved the variety of food that caters across race, ages and sizes. The freshness and the hygiene of the hall. The friendliness of the stuff stood out for me as I felt more at home than in my own home with how helpful they were, the bartender of the day even offered to make me my own drink and delivered it to my table. Names I managed to get are Zoe, Pam and Sam. Those with the lady bartender need a special thank you
