Reverie Social Table is proudly South African table d'hôte style eatery located in the quirky neighborhood of Observatory, Cape Town with a focus on social dining.

Each evening, chef patron Julia Hattingh welcomes guests to sit around her bespoke 18-seater table to enjoy a five-course meal exclusively created for them, and accompanied by carefully selected wines.

Guests are encouraged to put away their cell phones and engage with one another. Perfect for those who love food, wine and great company.

Chef Julia's contemporary style is strongly influenced by the chefs that have mentored her throughout her career, respect for the food she works with, her vast travels and her home town of Cape Town with its myriad of cultures and culinary heritage.

    Wow, another outstanding evening. Julia is just a fabulous hostess, her food totally amazing and wine choices superb. Our second visit here, and as last time, we met a bunch of like-minded people, great conversations and just had so much fun. We have eaten in so many outstanding, high quality establishments over the six years we have visited South Africa, but genuinely this is one of our favourites, just exceptional. Julia’s team are equally as passionate about what they do, which is great to see. Thank you so much Julia.

    A delightful social experience coupled with truly first class food, complemented by carefully selected regional wines, and bound together by impeccable service under the masterful direction of host and owner Julia. We will definitely return.

    We have visited several times over recent holidays to the Cape region. Every sitting at the “social table” has been a brilliant night of great food & wine whilst making new friends. A huge thank you to Julia and her brigade for creating more holiday memories.
