Reverie Social Table is proudly South African table d'hôte style eatery located in the quirky neighborhood of Observatory, Cape Town with a focus on social dining.

Each evening, chef patron Julia Hattingh welcomes guests to sit around her bespoke 18-seater table to enjoy a five-course meal exclusively created for them, and accompanied by carefully selected wines.

Guests are encouraged to put away their cell phones and engage with one another. Perfect for those who love food, wine and great company.

Chef Julia's contemporary style is strongly influenced by the chefs that have mentored her throughout her career, respect for the food she works with, her vast travels and her home town of Cape Town with its myriad of cultures and culinary heritage.

    It was an amazing experience, especially that there were only a few of us who reside in Cape Town and the others from various parts of the world. The food was delicious and different from usual eating out. The wine paring with each course was well thought out and most enjoyable. The whole concept is unique and certainly worth a visit

    We had an exceptional dinner at Reverie, in all terms: food, wine, people. It’s a great place to get in contact with locals and experience their friendliness and hospitality. Unfortunately I still cannot remember how we got aware of the venue, but it was definitely very good luck!! We will come back!

    A wonderful experience, with amazing and delicious food, great wines, and amazing staff ! It was a night to remember, and great to interact with the other guests at the table. We all moved around and got to chat to each other, whilst enjoying a fabulous evening. Thank you Julia and staff for making it a night to remember - we were all commenting the next day how much we all enjoyed the fabulous evening on Saturday !! The 5 course meal was delicious, and the wines complimented the meals (and they top up your glass). Difficult to choose the top meal, as all were delicious - only the cheese course was a little disappointing, compared with the rest. Overall 5-stars - Food, Value, Service, Ambience !! And wonderful to meet the other diners - highly recommend !

    Absolutely loved the experience from start to finish. Julia truly welcomes you into her home and makes you feel like family. Food of the charts delicious and the wine pairings were perfect. The communal table was warm and welcoming and after arriving with strangers, I left with new friends. Can't wait to return.
