    We had an event at Priva (Gender revel) we books Days before the event. Our Booking was from 14:00 pm till late, due to nature and unforeseen circumstances we were running very late and we could not control the situation as hand. Due to that the Manager was chasing us out with our guest. Is that normal ? because I have never experienced such. The staff was amazing and the food was great.

    Lets be honest: you book for 24 guest day before and the first sentence in the email you receive says” lunch from 12pm until 5pm”; there was a second email saying “I would suggest you come earlier as you booked for lunch until 5pm (other guests are coming at 5pm)”. You came 3h late, 3h!!! You came at the time you were supposed to leave. I personally spoke to the hostess at 2:30pm remind her that you have to leave by 5pm, which she acknowledged. We were fully booked for dinner but we still managed to accommodate you by reshuffling the whole seating plan – still not enough for you… I would be ashamed to make this comments after coming late for reservation 3h and getting everything I asked for if not more.

    I’m not disputing all that is said and I won’t be ashamed to share my review. As an owner, you should take this as a constructive and do not try to defend yourself. When I called to make a booking I was clear that the event would start at 2pm, no further communication was communicated with me that we only have limited time in the venue until I paid for the deposit. When I called last week, I would find your wife (Angie) or you on the phone, I stated that I am pretty much sure of 20 people who RSVP and asked if it’s possible for you to accommodate extra 4 people should they RSVP and you agreed. I communicated with you on the day of the event prior to start time that I’m stuck in a crisis, I further explained my crisis that my car had a mechanical issue and was stuck In Johannesburg but the guests will be arriving before me as I’ve communicated with them too. I had to beg after you said you can’t accommodate me as I was late and I asked what’s the way forward but you couldn’t give me a clear answer. When the decor people got to the event you refused for them to set up and later agreed but denied them to set-up balloons yet on the other end there was a baby shower hosted which you allowed a set-up of balloons. Surprisingly it states on the email sent that balloons and backdrops are allowed but you still denied the décor people access. I won’t lie, you are rude to specific customers. You were rude from the onset when I called to inform you that I’m running late and it was honestly beyond my control as I wouldn’t leave my car unattended in the streets of Johannesburg. Regardless of me informing you prior to start time, you still chased people away but didn’t come with an action plan after you said you wouldn’t accommodate us. Next time update your policy that should guests be late for any function, you won’t be able to accommodate them and refund them or at least give them a clear response. The food and staff was amazing, the only problem is you. You don’t treat customers equally and fairly and I repeat, I won’t be ashamed to share my review of the awful service you rendered to us. You need to work on yourself and people’s skills.

    Bad service, service charges that were not properly discussed upfront. Orders were mixed up and sometimes they would forget to bring the orders. No good etiquette from the waiters.

    We enjoyed ourselves, you assisted me with my mother on wheelchair, i forgot to ask if the restaurant is wheelchair accessible however you assisted me. Thank you i enjoyed my birthday celebration nicely.
