Sushi legend Hatsushiro Muraoka, fondly known as Papa San, joined forces with chef-partner Ben Bettendorf to open Obi on Long Street. We reported in May that the two saw Obi as an opportunity to showcase the clean flavours of Japanese cuisine, and this they do here with simplicity and skill.

    Recently discovered and completely love Obi. It is astonishingly good value for money and the quality of the food is fantastic. Can't recommend it enough. Just a note - don't be tempted to over-order. Ample portions and the food comes out so promptly, you can always order more if needed.

    Food is delicious and the portions are sizable- fish is so fresh and everything is just tasty! Would recommend :)
