All the food was good quality, presentation of the lamb main course could be improved. Service was extremely poor, no ice bucket offered with white wine. Chosen wine (from menu) out of stock in restaurant so customer instructed to buy their own. All of this at a vineyard restaurant. Had to chase to order dessert. Setting good but ambiance destroyed by poor service.

Mila is a beautiful restaurant located in the stunning winery Doolhof. We enjoyed our excellent lunch with a bottle of good wine.

My wife had the chicken kebabs which were overcooked and dry which she didn't eat. I had the lamb which was quite fatty and overpriced. To their credit, they didn't charge for my wife's meal. Friends staying there (the reason we drove from Cape Town to see them and the Glamping) then joined us for coffee and cake and the three cakes tried were all delicious. They didn't charge for my wife's piece of cake either. We ate outside under the tree which was lovely but the table tops were in need of a good clean which was done only after we were seated. The Rose we had with lunch was excellent and we bought a case to take home.

They couldn’t find our reservation to start with. Then almost 30 minutes after ordering they tell us one of the dishes was no longer available. Which resultet in a quite medioker and improvised sallad because that was the only vegeterian option available. We also ordered coffee and a cake twice which never came and then we decided to pay up an leave, without any mention of the coffee at all.

The decor and location are exquisite. The food - apart from the beautiful presentation - was overpriced for what you get and meh... And the service was terrible (we waited 40 minutes to order food). It has the potential to be fantastic but just isn't there. Rather go to the tasting room a short walk away.
