Loxtonia Farm is situated in the heart of the Western Cape farmlands, in the Ceres Valley. Owned by the Whitfield family since 1990. The art of making fine apple cider first took place at Loxtonia Farm in 2013, when the family run farmstead identified a gap in the South African market.

Loxtonia Farm exports apples, pears and plums world-wide while also supplying a small percentage of fruit to the local South African market. Founder & Head Cider Maker of Loxtonia Cider, Larry Whitfield realised that he could turn this into a two-fold passion project by using the juice from the apples to become the first Cidery in Ceres.

    Loxtonia Cider is absolutely fantastic and truly picturesque! We had the pleasure of sitting outside on the deck, which I would highly recommend reserving to anyone planning a visit. It’s undoubtedly the best seat in the house, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding scenery. A highlight of the deck is the charming swinging chair overlooking the view which is perfect for capturing a memorable photo. The cider tasting itself was phenomenal, showcasing a wonderful variety of flavours. What made our visit even more special was the exceptional service from our host, Julia. Despite the deck being quite a distance from the bar and deli, Julia catered to our every need with a warm smile and engaging conversation, making us feel right at home. We also noticed alpacas and other animals on the farm, with designated walking areas for visitors to explore. Unfortunately, we were pressed for time and couldn’t venture through those, but it gives us a great reason to return. For anyone looking for a relaxing, scenic, and memorable outing, Loxtonia Cider is the perfect destination. We can’t wait to visit again!
