Chef and charcuterie whizz Neil Jewell, together with his wife Tina Jewell, at the helm of this farm-to-table eatery at Spice Route Destination. The open-kitchen restaurant has comfortable yet sophisticated-country style indoor seating as well as outdoor seating with picturesque views of the Simonsberg Mountains and Table Mountain. As you would expect, only the best-quality ingredients are used in the dishes, including organic Red Angus beef from Charles Backs herd, with a regularly updated seasonal menu.

Wow! As someone who is unashamedly led around the world by my tummy, it's too often that a restaurant in a spectacular natural setting tends to rest on its scenic laurels, with the actual food sadly falling short of the view. And what a view from Jewells terrace! A hazy gaze across undulating vineyards - all the way to a silhouetted Table Mountain and, surely, the best in the Cape Winelands? This panorama is, if anything, enhanced by Chef Neil Jewell's extraordinary food. We began with his signature breads and butters (yes, a choice of 3!) and house-cured charcuterie - small wonder that no less than Marco Pierre White himself marvelled at Neils 'curing craft'. An impossibly silky cashew nut burrata then arrived like the frothy cloud atop distant Table Mountain, but in our case - atop a charred broccoli panzanella. Neil Jewell is a master of smoke and the rich cool silk of the burrata was a triumph with the blackened bite of that broccoli. On we munched... into the best Springbok loin I've ever eaten, with an African take on the classic Mexican mole adding a deep chocolate bass-beat to the perfectly charred loin. My mate, visiting from Melbourne - home of Aussie Masterchef, declared this the best meal he's eaten in a dozen trips to South Africa and refused to leave paradise without 'bullying' me into a petite apple crumble with brown-butter ice-cream (even silkier than the burrata). All in all - an extraordinary epicurean afternoon in the Winelands. Perhaps more extraordinary still, is that Jewell's was not packed with diners... It is surely, then, the best-kept secret in culinary Cape Town!

We absolutely loved every minute. We had requested a table inside (due to forecasted weather) and we got that! - and at the window, with that magnificient view! Service was terrific - super friendly, food was delicious! and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch - thank you very much. We'll be back - hopefully next time we can sit outside under those magnificient trees.

A quality oasis in the middle of the busy and commercial Spice Route Destination, Jewells is the restaurant to visit for excellent food and hospitality. Neil Jewell is best known of this Charcuterie - dont miss this or the take home deli section at the entrance. While the meat platter is tempting, there are lots of other wonderful menu items available - we had the innovative and delicious Cashew Nut Burrrata salad and a Risotto, followed by Springbok loin and melt in the mouth tender Brisket. Highly recommended.

superb food with the most amazing views. Jewell's is a beautiful restaurant with spectacular views. The bread and charcuterie alone is a wholesome meal. A great choice of light and main meals. The wine list - Spice Route - is just amzing and at great prices. Staff exceptional under the watchful eye of Tina who pops up constantly with a smile and a chat. Thank you for a lovely Sunday lunch in Paarl. Needless to say we will be back soon.
