    We go to Jakes often and have loved it. Not so this Sunday. I ordered Liver and Onions. It was very busy and we waited for45 minutes! My plate eventually arrived looking as though the food had been thrown on it as if it were at a soup kitchen! There was a large blob of unidentifiable brow lumps buried in gravy, the spinach was a brownish green blob, The mash another blob and 2 rings of pumpkin equally carelessly thrown on. I have ordered this in the past and it has been satisfactory. I waded through the brown slush, but eventually gave up. The manager was attentive and listened to our complaint. Indeed I was not charged. It was when we were leaving that I stopped to query his opinion of the food and presentation. He was much more forthcoming and agreed with our comments. (I'd have liked his response to have come whilst we were finishing our coffee. Up to that point I felt as if I had been ultra picky and a nuisance...) Will we go back...?

    Fantastic all round…once again. Jake’s is probably our favourite restaurant in the Cape Town area. Great food and really friendly young staff. Great experience all round.
