We are a family-owned wine estate in Stellenbosch offering beautifully crafted wines, delicious lunches featuring local, seasonal produce, tours of our underground cellar and views of 60 hectares of pristine, conserved wetlands.

    The platter used to be bigger. It would be nice to have the v possibility to sit in the sun. Our waiter Onole(?) was great!

    The burger isn't what it used to be, highly priced for an average item. Patty not cooked to M, but rather closer to Rare. Guest had Chicken, was still pink, but was improved at second attempt. Lunch plates was left on the table, even after dessert was ordered and served. Waiter blamed it on being understaffed for the day, yet he checked on the table and didn't bother taking anything with. The wines are good and it is a lovely relaxing spot, would stick to getting a platter&bottle, enjoy the nature&company.

    Such a great experience! With expert advice from Johan and Onalo we had a very memorable lunch. The ribeye is one of the best I've ever had! And the Hartenberg Cabernet was an excellent partner! Definitely going again!

    Not just excellent food well presented but excellent value. The quality of the wine speaks for itself. We have two favourite venues in Stellenbosch and this is equal first!

    Lovely garden setting and pleasant staff. Excellent wine. But the food really lets them down - it is mostly quite average in taste and presentation (with a few exceptions like the baked cheesecake, which is good) and the portions are not at all generous. We weren't needing enormous plates of food, but we got the sense that the kitchen was very carefully restricting portions. More generosity and a few extra touches would be welcome, especially because the prices are high. We all left feeling that is is too expensive for the quality and quantity.

    A beautiful lunch at a beautiful place. The whole experience was wonderful, the service amazing and all the meals were absolutely delicious. The salmon salad was fresh, bright and substantial. The burger was excellent and the kids meals kept them both happy, particularly with the chocolate brownie to finish. We also shared the charcuterie board which was overflowing with goodness. They did a custom white wine only tasting for my wife while we ate. Take some time and visit Hartenberg for a meal.
