The Garden is so beautiful, with stunning sculptures. However, the picnic food wasn’t great. Our food was cold, and it didn’t look or taste fresh. The carrot cake for dessert was lovely.

Honestly not a great experience. Can’t fault the food or the service from the individual. But first problem was being told we don’t do a la carte in the evenings. Wasn’t told when we booked and we definitely didn’t want a multi course dinner. Chef agreed that we could - as he should have as we were one of only 2 tables. Second problem was the ambience of the restaurant. Made worse by no vibe - 4 people - but really made terrible by food preparation noise (a blender or something). Final problem, poor value for money. Pricey food and too “fancy” and pricey a wine list. The fact that there were 4 people there on a Thursday evening in season in Cape Town probably says that there is an issue

Wine prices exorbitant. Fush - tasteless hake. Ravioli was hard and more like pastry. Rump not available. No ambience. Aimed at tourists for a quick meal. Characterless.
