Folk Cafe is a family friendly restaurant located in St James, beside the iconic St James tidal pool. Folk offers an excellent variety of food, with a focus on using ethical ingredients (free range, grass fed and organic) that are locally sourced and produced wherever possible.

All of the cakes are baked in house and food from the seasonal menu is made fresh, and to order, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The wood fired pizza can't be beat! There is also an extensive wine offering, beer on tap, milkshakes and smoothies for those with a sweet tooth, plus we roast and distribute our own signature coffee.

The location offers a playground for the kids and a sea view for the adults, live music every Saturday afternoon and a large outdoor area to accommodate bigger groups.

    Lovely staff, yummy food, beautiful venue. I like Folk Cafe. (It provides better service than a lot of the seaside places that rely too much on ambience to employ and train enough waiters)

    We had a stunning afternoon at Folk Cafe. The kids always have a great time playing while the adults get a chance to chat. We had great service from Jonah! The food has become quite expensive though. The chicken crunch burger had no flavor and the lamb foldover was lacking some flavor too. Almost as if they were running low on basil pesto or something. But we didn't let that ruin the wonderful afternoon!

    We thoroughly enjoyed our meal Food was out of this world. We had the Valentine special tapas menu which was scrumptious and more than enough for the two of us. Best value for money I have had eating out for a long time.

    Had an amazing breakfast experience at Folk Cafe in St. James! My guest had the omelet, and I had the Eggs Benedict on roti—both were absolutely divine. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the freshness of the ingredients really stood out. The coffee was just as impressive! We tried the Latte and Cappuccino, each one was expertly crafted with rich, bold flavors. The atmosphere was fresh and inviting, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely meal. Highly recommend Folk Cafe for a fantastic breakfast and top-tier coffee. Will definitely be back!
