    For context I have eaten here many times before and so the review is comparing it to those previous experiences and it was poor by comparison. In terms of the member of staff serving us she had a rather odd style which came across as rude perhaps unintentionally passing comments on our age and nationality, a comment about “I should have offered the side of chips given that you are British”. We then asked would you recommend the beef or the lamb, the answer was “I’ve never had either sent back” and there were a lot of comments akin to that. I think it’s a communication training issue. Then coming to the drinks, have decided not to offer Coke cola to guests and instead a local brand or other kombucha style drinks, all of which were not recommended and no doubt would have been costly. Turning to the food there was limited choice and the beetroot salad was covered in a sauce which was overpowering and sickly and ruined the dish because you couldn’t taste the beetroot. The mozzarella and peach salad was again ruined by an overpowering dressing and there was far too many green leaves just totally unbalanced dish. The mains were fine we had steak but in previous years a dish like that would have blown us away but this time it was ok. Overall a really disappointing experience which is such a shame as it is a beautiful setting and decor is wonderful as is the wine
