Having visited the original Dias Tavern in Caledon Street, I was really looking forward to some awesome Portuguese food. I was a little disappointed that it did not live up to my expectation. The food was ok, but pretty average. The restaurant was almost empty, but drinks service was very slow. And then considering it was the 2nd of January you would think the mess from New Years could have been cleaned ? ps. A Spotify Premium account only costs R64, it's less than 1 draft beer - is that too much to save you customers from the annoying free ads?

We enjoyed the evening till it turned into a nightclub/disco. We decided to leave at that stage, but others were enjoying themselves. We'll return but perhaps at a different time.

Had a really good meal, the draught beer selections were lacking but the wines selection was good. I would highly recommend asking for some of the trinchado sauce for steaks and chips, it really complements the meal.

Would have been more vibey with more customers - perhaps live music ahead of the rugby would help
